On the 27 July 1818 William married Mary Ann SCOTT (b 22/12/1796 Tortington) and continued to live within the County of Sussex.
After a period of time William and Mary Ann settled in Barnham, Sussex starting a family. It was at this time that they became part of the parish poor, enabling them to receive help with the cost of immigrating to Australia.
William, his wife Mary Ann and their children James( 6), Jane (11), Rueben (9), Levi (3) and Elizabeth (1) arrived at Clarence (quarantine camp), WA on the 6th of October 1829.
Only months after arriving both Mary Ann and Elizabeth died.

Nottinghamshire-born Naaman [1867-1931] was one of those exquisite odd-bods who, evidently, after his South Australian-born wife, Emma BEARD, died in childbirth at Brisbane Hospital on August 3, 1895 (they married at Albion, Brisbane, on November 8, 1893), seems to have drifted right out of Queensland and disappeared out of local records and family memory.
That he appears to have lived out his days down pit in the wilds of WA desert country - 567 kilometres north of Perth at the junction of the Geraldton-Mount Magnet Road and the Great Northern Highway - with no one knowing anything of his parentage (or anything else, judging by his death certificate) is a tad sad somehow.
