William joined the Australian Imperial Forces in Geraldton 1915. He studied during his time in the forces in England, obtaining special leave to study at School of Metallurgy and Mining at Camborn, Cornwall.
William returned to WA bringing Lily with him and settling in Boulder WA. They lived in Mukinbudin up to 1936

Joseph’s second wife was Clara Emily (nee VARCOE born 1867 in Ballarat, Victoria) who died 17 September 1942 aged 74 years. I found her buried at Wagin. Joseph and family lived for a time at Tenterden.. One trip south after their fire, we saw Lunt Road on the map and came across the cemetery where we found an infant Lunt male buried. Now we believe it was their son and also believe his was the first burial in the cemetery. I’d need to get a copy of the birth or death certificate to confirm this as Clara would have been mid-40s though she did have another child even later.
Joseph was born in England about 1853 and with first wife and child, arrived in Victoria about 1882, added to the family and then headed West. After the death of his first wife, he married Clara in Fremantle where their first three children were born. Their next child was born in Albany.
