William Ecclestone was born in 1810, St Mary s, Warwickshire, England.
He served as a Private in the 67th Regiment of Foot in the British Army. He enlisted in 1828 and was discharged in 1850.
After his retirement from the Army he took a position as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard. He met and married Mary PARSONS on 6 June 1852 at St Nicholas, Warwickshire. Mary was born 7 April 1829, Warwickshire, England.
William and Mary arrived in Fremantle on board the ship "Phoebe Dunbar" on 30 August 1853. William then took up his position as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard over the Convicts until 1859. He was then employed as a Warder and Police Constable until the late 1860s. William then took up farming with his family in the Boyanup-Bunbury area of Western Australia.
William and Mary had eight children, 4 boys and 4 girls. Their first child, Elizabeth Ann, was born in Warwickshire, the other 7 were born in WA.
Mary died on 26 November 1911 at Bunbury, WA"]
