ARNOLD , Selby John; Aged 12 years. Drowned Town Dam 24th Jan 1924. Eldest son of Jack & Barbara ARNOLD. Brother of May, Carey, Kevin and Cecelia. Headstone constructed by John Hawes, architect and Catolic priest in the Murchison Goldfields region between 1915 ang 1939. It commemorates the death of Selby John Arnold who served as his altar boy and who died in tragic ccircumstances. The headstone's construction was Hawes' fulfilment of a promise to the boy's parents.
